As you know, finding off-campus housing can be a difficult and time consuming task for students. The official
OIT Off-Campus Housing (OCH) website was designed to provide students with
the maximum amount of information for available rental properties in the
OITs community while minimizing the time required to finding suitable
housing. Using the OIT OCH website and The My Ideal Home Network to promote
your rental properties is fast, easy and best of all FREE for a full month with your first listing.
The Internet has presented itself as an excellent vehicle for distributing comprehensive rental information complete
with extra features such as photographs, virtual tours, mapping and driving
instructions. The refined search feature allows you to be as specific as you
would like, helping you find a new home that is just right for you. Best of
all, searching our database is absolutely
FREE.
How to list on the OIT OCH Website
Placing your rental listing is an easy 3 step process. This process will
provide you with a username and password that will enable you to list your
rental properties on the OIT OCH website. Just follow the steps below.
Remember, there is no need to place your listing on multiple websites. Listing your property on the OIT OCH website will
also list your rental property with the offcampushousing101.com website which will automatically list it with all
partnered schools throughout North America and The My Ideal Home Network
Step1: Create An Account.
- To create your personal account click on the ‘free trial’ button.
- Indicate whether you are a student, private landlord or a property manager/management company. This will provide you with helpful information
that pertains to your particular needs.
- Click on the animated ‘click here to create your account’ graphic to start entering your account information. Please fill out
the form and click ‘submit’ to activate your account.
Important Note: After you submit your account information the system will provide you with a username. Please write this down
along with your password and keep them in a safe place as you will need this information to login to the system.
Step 2: Log In.
- Click on the animated ‘click here to create your account’ graphic to login to the system and start adding your first listing.
If you would like to add a listing at a later date, simply navigate to the OIT OCH website and click ‘member login’
- Enter your username and password and click ‘OK’. If you have forgotten your password simply click ‘forgot’
and the system will automatically email you with your username and password.
- A listing management menu will appear on the left of your screen and a help page on the right. Please read this help page as it describes in detail how to use
our management tools and place your listing.
Step 3: Place Your Listing.
- Once you are logged in, click ‘add’ on the menu to start listing your rental property.
- You will be presented with a list of property types. Please select the type that best describes your rental property.
- The required information is indicated in red and there are help buttons throughout the form which will provide you with helpful information.
- Don’t forget to add pictures and additional descriptive information to help showcase your rental property.
- When you have filled out the form and chosen the ‘time advertised’, quickly review your listing and click ‘submit’ at the bottom of the page to complete. Your listing has now been added and will be processed shortly.
Note:To view the listing click ‘view’ on the tool bar on the left. To make any changes click ‘modify’ on the tool bar on the left. Do
not forget to take advantage of the free pictures and additional
descriptive features to help showcase your rental property. Remember
listings with pictures are listed first in the search results.
Remember searching is always free and you can refine your search to meet your specific needs.
